Trees

Lush green trees,
of summer’s breeze,
sing to us a melody sweet.

Pale green buds of new beginnings,
lucid white seed sprinklings,
happily feed the finches.

As summery hot days soar,
Oh! trees, your shades,
our scorched hearts  adore.

5th June : World Environment Day, lets do our bit for it.

  12. Liking this, Vandana. Trees, we need and enjoy your shade. Don't think I've written of/to a tree. Joyce Kilmer's was the first poem I ever memorized.

  14. The best part is the "Oh!" exclamation, as though you simply cannot contain your delight. I will mourn summer for about five minutes... until Autumn shows her "true colors." Nicely done! Amy

  15. This is lovely. I like thinking of the seeds as lucid! At my house we had to have a huge conifer cut down this week and I've been very sad and irritated about it. :(
