Wintry Memories : Ottava Rima

Beautiful white cloudy skies of winter,
precious memories to hold and cherish,
yearning desires of a heart to enter,
the sanctuary of a soul ,with love to embellish.
A hearth full of warm emotional cinders,
and every infinity to relish.
But the wintry winds touched and left,
leaving the hearts in cold arrest.

Ottava Rima : 8 lines, no set meter, but can  use iambic pentameter. Rhyme scheme : abababcc

  11. Oh! How I wish the "but" didn't arise. I love the winter that causes us to notice more all the ways we warm each other and our homes. This is the saddest time of year to be "left" out in the cold.
